More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I'm passionate about my teaching (college level--the students are awesome); my friendships; music and art--and life in general. I'm passionate about life-long learning...AND....I love being around people who are passionate about THEIR interests--THEIR projects--THEIR ideas and THEIR lives!

I typically spend my leisure time

eating dinner with friends; movies; classical music concerts; long walks on a trail near my home; reading; playing the piano

The most influential person in my life has been

I have several qualities I believe are important: honesty; the ability and willingness to share thoughts and feelings; someone who loves to laugh--and someone who is in love with LIFE!

The first thing people notice about me

That I'm a good listener. When someone is speaking with me, I completely focus on them--and truly listen to what they're saying. I'm not "working the room." We just received student evaluations from this past semester, and I was pleased when several students wrote: "You're the BEST teacher I've ever had. I always felt that you LISTENED to what I had to say---and that you were NOT judgmental."

The last book I read and enjoyed

a British book, "Eats, Shoots & Leaves." The author, Lynne Truss, is funny--as well as articulate. It's a book, believe it or not, about punctuation!

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. I am MOST thankful for my family--especially my children and my grandchildren!
  2. I am MOST thankful for my friends---who are numerous, nurturing, and wonderful!
  3. I am thankful for being able to arise every day to a roof over my head, food on my table, and a beautiful and free world outside.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

sorry...but I can't think of ANYTHING!

Friends Describe me as

Creative, Energetic, Happy, Kind

A little more about me

That I'd travel to most anywhere on the globe at the drop of a hat!
