More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Few things in life are as rewarding to me as my career as a journalist. I think I am most passionate about chasing after a good story and writing it well. I love my family and they come first, but as an individual, not as a mom, my passion is definitely rooted in my work.

I typically spend my leisure time

When I had a boyfriend I used to spend a lot of my weekend time hiking or going on drives, to the movies, out to dinner or just chilling at his place with him. Now, I spend my time at home with my family either sharing tips on Web design with my son or working on projects.

The most influential person in my life has been

Integrity sums up so many things: loyalty, honesty and deep values based in faith. So I suppose what I most would want from anyone in any situation would be integrity.

The first thing people notice about me

My smile is what gets noticed first, most often. People say it is genuine and friendly, and it often seems to invite strangers to choose me in a crowd when they need to ask for directions or for help of some kind. I'm always amazed by that.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I find "Dreamers Don't Quit" by Nick Cobos to be at once inspiring and disturbing. Nick, who suffers from severe learning disabilities, shows his readers how he has lived out his dreams, including that of becoming a published author. For that, I praise the book. Because it details so many instances in which others took advantage of him as he was growing up, it also outraged me that people can be so discriminatory and cruel to another human being. Despite such challenges has managed to come out on top. Kudos to Nick. Long may his dreams continue to come true.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. I am most thankful for my children, whom I love more than anything.
  2. I am also thankful for all of my immediate family members.
  3. I am grateful for the daily blessings and talents that I have, thanks to God.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

You've got me on this one. I really don't know because I don't spend a lot of time trying to impress others. I just try to be myself, regardless of what people notice or don't notice about me.

A little more about me

My work is very important to me. I will probably be writing until the day I die, and if I am lucky, I will live long enough to get a little writing done that day before checking out to take the final journey home. It isn't about the money. If I was married to the richest man on earth, which is not something I would really find desirable, I would work regardless. I will only consider a serious relationship with someone who shares my faith as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I'm easy going and love to love life.
