The one thing I am passionate about...
Truth. Edith Shaeffer wrote many years ago about "true truth" meaning that which is true in spite of the color of general opinion, the bias of an observer, the spin of a critic, or the denial of an unbeliever. I think Jn 3:16 is an example of true truth.
I typically spend my leisure time
When I'm at home: Reading, working outside in the yard, talking to my kids and my friends. When I'm out: concerts with my friends, shopping, hiking with my daughter
The most influential person in my life has been
A strong belief in Jesus Christ, that God is in control of our lives, and that He has a plan for us. A capacity for warmth and laughter and kindness. A joy and peace of heart that will draw me to him. (And a smile that makes his eyes crinkle!) You probably noticed I didn't read the question carefully, but this is the edited list.
The first thing people notice about me
They seem to believe that I have it all under control. How they get that idea stumps me. I think it should be pretty obvious that more than half the time, I'm punting.
The last book I read and enjoyed
Hillerman; The Sinister Pig. I like mysteries, & this was a Christmas gift. I have several of his books. His stories are set in the four corners area, and I would love to go visit the places he describes.I also like CS Lewis, Taylor-Caldwell, Ludlum, Grafton, Clancy.....
The three things which I am most thankful for
- my kids and parents
- my health
- my job
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
That the reason I may seem stand-offish is that I'm being very careful, and that I don't do small talk in person very well.
Friends Describe me as
Articulate, Good listener, Intelligent, Spiritual
A little more about me
I think I have a left foot and a right foot, but I never have learned to dance.
