The one thing I am passionate about...
I am a collector of glass covered animal dishes and have spent the last 2 years learning about the vast array of glass makers of the past, and dabble on eBay with some selling. I belong to the National Milk Glass Collector's Society.
I typically spend my leisure time
I read voraciously, garden in summer,go fishing, go antiquing, sell on eBay at times, try new recipes I see on FoodTV, fix things around the house, visit friends and family.
The most influential person in my life has been
I am searching for a partner in life; a man to go places with, provide companionship, and work toward forming a longer-lasting relationship with the right person.
The first thing people notice about me
That I may seem aloof at first--I wear a hearing-aid for a sensorineural hearing loss of about 50%, and I don't always respond if I don't realize someone is speaking to me, ie., if I'm not looking at the person, etc.
The last book I read and enjoyed
No Second Chance, by Harlen Coban. Murder mystery--I like trying new authors, and hadn't read any of his before. I like the style, and it held my interest. I often read a book in one sitting, and this one kept me at it to the end.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- That I have two wonderful sons, and that they live nearby.
- That I have been able to support myself for the last 20 years.
- That my health is fairly good compared to a lot of people my age.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
This is a difficult question! I guess there isn't anything, that I care about, that people don't notice--and if they don't notice, how do I know what it is!? Compassion, decency, honesty, caring--are all invisible.
Friends Describe me as
Caring, Genuine, Intelligent, Kind
A little more about me
I currently smoke and am trying to cut down enough that quitting won't be so difficult. I plan to quit within the next year.
