The one thing I am passionate about...
I'm most passionate about my family and relationships with others. I love, trust and respect fairly easily and am extremely loyal to those I care for. I am also passionate IN my work; (Not about work itself, but about doing any assignment/project to the best of my ability and enthusiastically). People frequently look at me like they think I'm crazy, but I find when I am excited and motivated (and willing to act a little crazy) people relax a little more, want to become more involved themselves AND I get better results because they are happier too. Finally, I'm passionate about honesty, loyalty and integrity in myself and those a
I typically spend my leisure time
I'm not much of a cold weather enthusiast, so during the winter months I read a lot. Since I moved here rather late last summer, I'm looking forward to next summer and the opportunity to spend a lot of time at Lake Coeur d'Alene; I also like to putter around in my backyard. I've been toying with the idea of taking up golf, but don't really see myself doing that alone.
The most influential person in my life has been
Truth/Honesty; To him/herself, to others, to commitments and to life.
The first thing people notice about me
I have had many people ask me why I'm always smiling. "Always" is an exaggeration, but I do smile a lot. "No one likes a frowny face..." Maybe that counts as appearance? If so, then I guess the other thing people might notice is that I like to involve the outsider or loner in a group, offering them an opportunity to be a part of the whole.
The last book I read and enjoyed
I read too much to really pick one. I typically read LDS fiction. It doesn't matter if it's historical fiction, mystery or romance; I enjoy it all. My favorite book of all time is "Rebecca." It's the first classic I ever read.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- Family: Past, Present & Future generations
- Having the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life
- Education & opportunities that have made it possible for me to support my children by myself.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I'm struggling with this one. I guess it would just be that they could see me the same way they would see me after we'd met a few times. Initially, I can be fairly quiet and subdued. People who've known me for a little while find it hard to believe that they ever thought of me as quiet or shy. I love to laugh and I love to make others laugh, frequently at my own expense.
Friends Describe me as
Genuine, Happy, Loyal, Spiritual
A little more about me
I have five adult children. 3 married daughters and twin sons. The boys attend BYU-I; one recently married, the other will be married in May. I also have (almost) 8 grandchildren 4 and under. Although I'm very close to them all, geographically the closest ones are seven hours away. It makes for a lot of quiet time by myself, but when the family DOES get together it's laughter, fun and CHAOS! I grew up near Chicago but have also lived in three other Illinois cities, Ohio, Utah, Montana and now Idaho. I have no particular ties to anyplace geographically, but go wherever & whenever Heavenly Father leads me
