The one thing I am passionate about...
Nature, the natural world. This comes across in the books I choose to read, the hobbies I enjoy, the spiritual view I have of the world, my political leanings, the places I want to travel, and what makes me most happy and most sad. I believe humans disconnect from the natural world is the source of many of our world's problems and issues today.
I typically spend my leisure time
Internet, reading, movies, cooking, photography, quilting, hiking, dancing, snowboarding, board games, traveling, swimming... I like to do a lot of things. I don't really excel at any one thing though, and am actually quite terrible at some of these. But it's what I enjoy, right?
The most influential person in my life has been
Kindness. Passion. Affection. A willingness to let another person in and be open and loving with them. Flexibility. Love. Laughter. Playfulness. Conversation.Wait, they want just one thing here?
The first thing people notice about me
I'm quiet. I can be hard to get to know, at first. I don't let people in automatically. Not until I feel I can trust them.
The last book I read and enjoyed
The Road - Cormac McCarthy. Just a really unusual book about what drives us to keeping living even when we have nothing.Currently reading: Possession by AS Byatt, A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson, and Ladies Coupe by Anita Nair.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- my pets and their constant love and affection
- my intelligence and love of learning
- living in Colorado, one of the most amazing places on Earth
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
Still waters run deep.
Friends Describe me as
