More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Exploring. I like to hop on my motorcycle and see the NC countryside. When I can I'll take my camera with me and take a few photos. Exploring also pertains to people. I like to sit down with people and pick their brains. Everyone has something to offer, what's yours?

I typically spend my leisure time

Lately I've been doing a lot of cooking. I have a new roommate who doesn't cook, so I get to do it. It's great because I get to expand my culinary skill with him, and a few other friends. My only stipulation is I must receive constructive criticism, so I can always improve. If I'm not cooking then I'm doing one of the following; riding my motorcycle (if it's not too cold), on my mountain bike exploring some trails or my neighborhood, eating at a delicious restaurant, or enjoying a drink with my friends.

The most influential person in my life has been

I think it's one that is often over looked. A best friend. I'm also looking for someone who will challenge me, and I challenge them as well.

The first thing people notice about me

How easy it is to talk to me and my sense of humor. It's nerdy (my undergrad was mechanical engineering).

The last book I read and enjoyed

"Sh!t Dad Says" - Great read to make you laugh and reflect how our parents shape us. The sitcom spin-off is terrible though."The Omnivore's Dilemma" and I"n Defense of Food," both by Micheal Pollan - It's about how our food comes to market and what processed "food" really is. It's changed my eating habits (for the better). Skunk Works - It's about the secret projects Boeing developed under Kelly Johnson and Ben Rich (two men influential in aerospace design). I love flying. I have my pilot's license and I will be getting my glider rating in the next 6 mo.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My family - I'm close with my two older sisters who still continue to challenge and look out for me. Although the lil bro has good advice to give now too.
  2. My Friends - I've lived in 5 cities in 5 years and I've never been lucky enough to make the friends I have here in Raleigh. Truly a unique and fun-loving crew.
  3. ...and my education - "I'm a ramblin' gamblin' helluva engineer!"

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I'm not sure. I'm a pretty open person and I have been told by several people I wear my emotions on my sleeve. I do a good job of putting myself out there the first time I meet people.

Friends Describe me as
