More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I work as an assistant director at a local residential treatment center for substance abuse issues and emotional disorders. Being in recovery myself, I enjoy assisting others to reach their fullest potential.

I typically spend my leisure time

I am a movie buff. I love going to new releases; checking out movies at the video store; or just surfing the channels. I also love good music, and finding new artists to listen to. I recently lived by the ocean, and weather permitting, I spent a lot of time walking on the beach, a life-long passion I have made come true. I just moved back to Utah this past May to spend time with my two daughters.

The most influential person in my life has been

I want someone who is open, honest, affectionate, and not afraid to hold hands or kiss in public. I want a man who is not afraid to cry in front of me, whether it be tears of sadness or joy. I want someone who accepts me for who I am today-a loving, honest, vivacious woman who embraces life.

The first thing people notice about me

I have denim blue eyes and a great big smile. My laughter is contagious; people have told me that they love to hear me laugh, because it comes from the bottom of my toes. I am strong, confident and assertive, and am not afraid to show these qualities to others.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I just read Season of Life by Jeffery Marx. It was about teaching young men the real meaning of manhood and masculinity; the importance of telling people "I love you," and really meaning it; of working together with others to help those in need and less fortunate; of being the best person you can be in all your relationships. This was taught by high school football coaches to their young players, to carry this message on in their lives and share it with others.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Surviving cancer three times and living to tell about it.
  2. My two beautiful children, Shauna and Kira.
  3. Living life on life's terms and sharing it with friends I love.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That I am a trusting and caring person who doesn't judge others based on their race, religion, financial status, looks, etc.

Friends Describe me as

Affectionate, Ambitious, Genuine, Outgoing

A little more about me

I am a recovering alcoholic/addict with over 16 years of sobriety. This means my life was out of control, and I abstain from using anything now. I do not judge others who drink/use; however, I also choose to not live this lifestyle, or allow drugs/alcohol in my home, my personal space, my sanctuary.
