More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I strive to do things that enhance my life: be it travelling to a new place or experiencing some great music or art or just simply spending time with friends or reading a great book - these are all things that contribute to making me a happy and whole person.

I typically spend my leisure time

I like to spend time with friends or family either going out or cooking at home and talking and laughing. I love to read, watch movies, and travel. I like spending time outdoors a lot. I just started running again after taking some time off because of back problems and it has been great to run around my neighborhood first thing in the morning, getting fresh air etc. I also like to hike, swim and kayak. I don't play golf but I am planning to take lessons soon and really look forward to that. I love to cook (was actually a pastry chef at one point!).

The most influential person in my life has been

To me, the combination of the different characteristics of integrity and a sense of humor are what make a person well rounded. All in all, I am really looking for a best friend.

The first thing people notice about me

Although I can be a little shy at first, I am quick to smile and make friends.

The last book I read and enjoyed

The Seduction of Water by Carol Goodman. It was part mystery, part art history and literature and was a total page turner. I identified with lots of elements in the book: lots of places in New York Cty and state that are really familiar to me and there was a lot of Irish mythology and legend as part of the central theme - even a character with my name which is rare!

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. At the risk of sounding like a nut I have to say my dog, Coogan. His unconditional love and affection amaze me daily.
  2. A happy, well rounded life with a loving network of family and friends.
  3. The fact that I have travelled a lot and experienced many cultures and diverse places. On top of that, I get to come home to NYC . It doesn't get much better than that!!

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I can come off as a little aloof at first but it's really just a tiny bit of old fashioned shyness - I am really a warm and funny person.

A little more about me

I work hard at my job but my life beyond my office is really what is most important to me. I like to enjoy life and the people who are around me. I am ready to move into the next phase of my life and hope to find someone loyal and honest to maybe share the journey with me.
