More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I tend to go though phases where I'm passionate about one thing, and while I'm in that phase, I live it and breath it. One year it might be hiking, the next it might be woodworking or poker. I get into something new and want to experience or understand it as fully as I can.

I typically spend my leisure time

It varies quite a bit, as I mentioned above I go through phases with "new" hobbies, or revived interest in old hobbies. A few of my more consistent interests are: reading ( esp. Sci-fi ), woodworking, hiking, fireworks (only on the 4th!), roller-coasters/amusement parks, kayak/canoe (though I've only just been introduced to kayaks, I'll probably be buying one soon), computer games, board/card games, watching TV/movies.

The most influential person in my life has been

Honesty. To me, that's where it all starts.

The first thing people notice about me

I'm not sure - it probably depends quite a bit on context. If I'm in a relaxed setting, perhaps my dry sense of humor. If I'm in the middle of doing something, probably my intensity/focus.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I think I need to go with two books:"The Wit and Wisdom of Benjamin Franklin" - a short book, but I was amazed at how progressive and forward-thinking this founding father actually was."Exultant" This is a sci-fi book about the far future (20,000 years or so from now), when humanity has colonized the galaxy.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My family
  2. My friends
  3. My good fortune in life

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

Well, usually when I meet new people, it takes a while for me to warm up to them, so my humor probably doesn't show as well as it could.

Friends Describe me as

Creative, Generous, Hard Working, Intelligent

A little more about me

The photos of me aren't as new as I'd like, but I think they are reasonably accurate. I'll try to get a new one posted soon.
