More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Lately, I have been most passionate about remodeling my house. I bought a fixer-upper a few years ago and I have been able to remodel it from the plumbing to the roof and all of the goodies in between. I didn't start out to do so much, but I began to enjoy the challenge of finding the right tile, knobs, appliances, colors, furnishings, etc. that would compliment my taste. I feel that I have successfully turned a little house into a nice home. I have learned that patience and persistence really pays off. A dream job or hobby, for me, would be to be able to buy houses, remodel them and sell them to people who crave affordable comfort.

I typically spend my leisure time

I love concerts at the Hollywood Bowl, but I typically spend my leisure time as a spectator. I love watching plays, movies, football, basketball, and sunsets.

The most influential person in my life has been

The first thing people notice about me

My slight Midwestern accent.

The last book I read and enjoyed

"Mama Made the Difference - Life Lessons My Mother Taught Me" by T.D. Jakes. After attending a recent conference held by this dynamic, preacher, pastor, bestselling author, I was inspired to buy this book for each of my six siblings. This book praises and encourages women who have been the backbone for our nation. He shares that a mother's lessons are the building block of character and that her influence shapes the world. I love the way the author shared personal experiences as well as testimonials from some of todays most influential leaders regarding how their mothers helped to mold them into successful individuals. Inspirational!

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Having a strong, loving family and a few good friends.
  2. Having a personal relationship with God.
  3. Enjoying the work I do and the lives I am able to touch.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

My sense of humor.
