More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Family and friends come first, that should be a given. I do like my job... but what I spend the most time doing is running, biking, or swimming. I participate in charitable sporting events at least once a month... using my "gift" to give back to the world. One of my favorite quotes is from Steve Prefontaine, a legendary distance runner. I try apply it to everything in life: "To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift."

I typically spend my leisure time

Running, biking, or swimming. I live and die for Scrabble. Movies, locally owned restaurants, and book stores are all good.

The most influential person in my life has been

Beauty inside and out, intelligence, understanding, athleticism. That was four or five things... if I had to pick just one quality it would be the ability to thrive in any situation: bloom where you're planted, so to speak.

The first thing people notice about me

Thoughtfulness / Kindness. I don't care who gets home from work faster, or who needs to be first through the checkout line. I will not only motion others to go ahead, but do it with a smile. If your life is a race, good luck. Mine is a journey, and I am enyoying it.

The last book I read and enjoyed

The Shipping News and Snow Falling on Cedars. Surprisingly similar in their settings and some of the details about the major characters, but totally different books. For non-fiction I read Richard Dawkins books on a regular basis. One book that influenced me greatly was Aikido in Everyday Life.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. love
  2. life
  3. my sons

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That I like them and want to talk to them.

Friends Describe me as

Hard Working, Intelligent, Optimistic, Physically Fit

A little more about me

Sometimes the things I laugh at are only funny to me. Also, I hope that people reading my profile don't really think conforming to some laundry list of what we want in a partner is going to make the perfect relationship. This isn't used car shopping. I need to feel amazing chemistry to start another relationship, and you can't get that from all the words and pictures in the world. If you're here with a "carpe diem" attitude, great, lets meet and see if we click.
