More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

A lot of things: finding ways that I can serve others, sharing grace with others, leading a balanced life, maintaining relationships with friends, learning about new things, looking for areas in my life that need to be improved, hosting friends at my house, doing my best at my job while not being consumed by it, travelling and setting (and realizing) realistic goals for myself.

I typically spend my leisure time

Depends on my mood, but usually exercising, reading, spending time with friends or just puttering around my house or yard.

The most influential person in my life has been

Just one? The most important thing is Christian faith that bears fruit. I also value someone who is willing to give and receive grace, appreciates the simple things in life and has a passion for helping others. I want someone who enjoys entertaining/spending time with friends but is also comfortable being alone together and enjoying one another's company.

The first thing people notice about me

Since the first thing someone notices about me is normally the first time he/she sees me, I think it is my comfort level in new situations. I have an outgoing nature and willingness to seek common ground with new people to begin establishing a relationship or just enjoy the time that we have been given to chat.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I enjoy most books that I read, especially books on US history. However, the most recent book I read that really struck me is Dietrich Bonhoeffer's "Life Together." It lays out a rhythm to life that is vastly different from mine, even when I take into account the context in which it was written. It challenged me to not base my relationships or interactions solely on my own perceived gifts.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Knowledge of my salvation and the recognition of what life is about
  2. A supportive family and friends who have made me feel like family
  3. My ability to not be defeated by difficult times or carried away during good times

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

Because I tend to be a question asker rather than a talker when I first meet someone, I think that people don't realize the range of thought that I have. I come across as a consumer rather than an actor.

Friends Describe me as

Dependable, Genuine, Good listener, Loyal

A little more about me

I am an only child, but most people are surprised to hear that when they find out. My job offers opportunities to go overseas to live. It's not definite that it will happen, but it is a possibility down the road.
