The one thing I am passionate about...
It's hard to say what I'm MOST passionate about. I guess it would be that I think it's so important to dwell on the good. I'm not talking to a degree that you don't recognize the bad stuff...but on the whole, recognize and appreciate the good in situations, in people, whatever it may be.
I typically spend my leisure time
Since it's been so cold outside, I've been staying in. (I'm very ready for some warm weather and sunshine!) Through the winter, I like to go to the movies, go to our local cafe (The Three-legged Dog) for a white mocha, out to eat with friends and usually visit at each other's houses. In the summer I walk at the park, go places for a good hike...and camping is fun - if there's a camper involved. Cookouts are great and one of the easiest ways to have a good time with friends on a lazy, sunny weekend.
The most influential person in my life has been
He must be a man grounded in his faith in Jesus. He must like to smile and enjoy life. He likes to have fun and laugh, but balances it all with logical thinking and good decision making. He must be a caring leader.
The first thing people notice about me
I have to admit that it would probably be that I can be shy when first meeting someone. I like to listen first, find out as much as I can before joining in. But, once I get started, the shyness starts to fade and I can open up and enjoy myself.
The last book I read and enjoyed
The last book I read was The Time Traveler's Wife. If you haven't read it or seen the movie, it's about a woman that falls in love with a "time-traveling" man. What I liked most about it was the love they shared when they were together stayed strong even when they were apart. Ok, it's a "chick-flick", I know. But hey, I AM a girl!More seriously, though...I read my Bible daily. Some days, when it's been a long one...it's just a few verses before bed. I usually have a Bible study that I've picked up at the Family Christian Bookstore to work though.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- Jesus and the hope He gives
- My children, usually :)
- Loyal and faithful friends
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
That I'm very outgoing once I get to know someone. Once I've reached my comfort level, then you get the real me!
Friends Describe me as
Affectionate, Happy, Passionate, Perceptive
A little more about me
I've been divorced for several years. Over these years I've concentrated on raising my daughter (the only child left at home). Now, she is old enough that she has quite the social life and we're at a point that I am able to invest some time in a relationship. I take this seriously, and I don't want to play any of the games some people do. I will be open and honest and hope and pray that you will be, too.
