More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I feel like this should be my chance to be deep, but I'm going to go with books. They're something one can retreat to in solitude, without help from anyone else, to gain information, to escape, to live a fantasy, to travel through time and space, to provide food for thought and substance for conversation. I can spend hours in a bookstore and hours reading, and I value other people who can appreciate those things, also.

I typically spend my leisure time

I value a certain amount of alone time, for reading, or playing around on my computer, or cross-stitching or whatever. Aside from that, I like to hang out with some friends, usually at there houses, with a few drinks and some movies. I also really like museums of almost any kind, and the occasional camping trip.

The most influential person in my life has been

Whether it's just a friend, or someone I'm dating, I guess it would have to be dependability. You have to be able to count on somebody to be there no matter what life throws at you. Differences can be worked out, difficulties can be overcome, but if you can't count on somebody when you need them, the relationship just can't get too strong.

The first thing people notice about me

Well... I've never met myself for the first time, so I'm not 100% sure. Some people tell me it's my sense of humor.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I'm currently re-reading Homer's Odyssey. I love classics, and I love ancient history, and the Odyssey is the best of both worlds. And it's got action, drama, suspense, myth... I think it's one of the most fun things to read.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. A large and very close-knit extended family
  2. A very loyal, accepting, and supportive group of friends
  3. A job that doesn't suck the soul out of me

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

When I'm in a group, I can be really shy... but sometimes people think I just don't want to talk to them.

Friends Describe me as
