The one thing I am passionate about...
I am most passionate about great music, such as jazz, blues, and classical music. I really like movies and would like to branch off into watching musicals and live performances of blues, jazz, and classical. I also love going outdoors and would like to start up hiking again here in Northern California, like I did in Washington state. I love reading about military history, mostly World War II history. I love to cook Italian and French recipes. I haven't done it much, but I do like to entertain people and cook some good entrees for them.
I typically spend my leisure time
I enjoy reading books of World War II history. I love just browsing for books. I like to bike with my old ten-speed. I've biked with groups and by myself. I enjoy watching new movies at the theater. I enjoy listening to classical, blues, jazz, and new rhythm and blues music. I enjoy watching the Food Network for all their new recipes and food shows. I also like the History Channel and Science Channel.
The most influential person in my life has been
I want the other person to be passionate about things as I am. I want her to be open with her feelings and thoughts to me. Having passions about things in her life are good, otherwise life would be bland.
The first thing people notice about me
I enjoy joking around and having fun at work. I'm fairly easy-going outside of work. I don't take things too seriously.
The last book I read and enjoyed
Last book I read and really enjoyed was The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt by Edmund Morris. This was a historical book about the career of Theodore Roosevelt up to the point he becomes President. I really enjoyed reading about how Roosevelt had accomplished so many things. The book was full of action and the author made his life sound so interesting. Roosevelt must have been a person who had a well-defined sense of mission in his life. Another book that made a big impact on me was An Army at Dawn by Rick Atkinson. This was a solid study into the leadership of the top generals of the Allies during the North African Campaign during World War II.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- Living a happy life.
- Friendships and family.
- Experiences in the outdoors in Washington state.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
Most people think that I am not a go getter because I seem reserved at first. I am not. I love to take life and get a lot out of it.
