More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I try to live as a good steward of our natural environment so I am passionate about protecting our lakes and oceans. I wish to see all children treated lovingly and abhor child abuse of any kind. I believe in liberal religion and being open to the beliefs of others while growing my own spirituality. I seek peace within mostly by being outdoors.

I typically spend my leisure time

On the water - kayak, sailing, swimming. I love hiking and building bonfires.

The most influential person in my life has been

The capacity for intimacy: sensitivity, compassion and a sense of humor. I'd love it if he shared my love of the outdoors and is actively biking, hiking, etc.

The first thing people notice about me

My kindness and easy sense of humor along with my love of the outdoors and water.

The last book I read and enjoyed

The Lion by Nelson Demille - action packed and very good plot and character development. The Life of Edgar Sawtelle - great understanding of dogs and their humans. Also, Truck by Michael Perry who writes with humor and affection for his home town, New Auburn, Wisconsin. He portrays the lives of small town families and communities in a way that touches me and reveals the fullness of all of our lives. I love books by Tony Hillerman who writes mysteries using Navaho Indian culture and characters. I enjoy The Office and Outsourced as TV comedies.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My network of friends and family and their feedback and support.
  2. My good health - without which life would be more difficult.
  3. My ability to love and live with gratitude for the abundance in my life.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

My capacity for introspection and personal growth.

Friends Describe me as

Good listener, Kind, Respectful, Warm

A little more about me

I am trying to grow spiritualy and try to find the wisdom that supposedly comes with turning 60. I would like to share life with someone as I believe the sharing of things and good compansionship are wonderful additions to life! Favorite TV show: The Good Wife I loved the West Wing and have found the Good Wife is intelligently written and a good replacement for WW I have a small sailboat and two kayaks that take me away from the stresses of everyday life. Being on the water is an adventure and often good therapy! I hope to someday see the Grand Canyon up close.
