More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am most passionate about helping others and trying to make a difference by living my beliefs. I measure others by what they do ( and have done), not by what they say they will do. I cannot abide people who say one thing and do another (Ex. believe in protecting the environment but drive a gas-guzzler) All my roles in life and most of my jobs have involved caring for others, but when it comes to finding a partner for life, I want it to be equal give and take.

I typically spend my leisure time

I love taking long walks with my dog ( love animals!), I read alot, play my guitar, I do some creative writing, volunteer work, cycling, kayaking, enjoying nature.

The most influential person in my life has been

There are two that are equally important: First, ability and willingness to communicate openly and honestly ( that includes being a good listener) and second, a great sense of humor, ability to laugh at yourself as well as situations.

The first thing people notice about me

People often find me energetic, outgoing, 'perky' and peppy and frequently remark on how petite I am.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I love a good mystery or thriller. Just finished a Tony Hillerman book - love his work; am currently rereading "Wherever You Go, There You Are" by Jon Kabat-Zinn about practicing 'mindfulness' . I read constantly, both fiction and non-fiction.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. I have been blessed with good health and a good mind.
  2. My life has not always been easy but it sure has been interesting!
  3. I have the self-confidence and optimism to believe almost anything is possible.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I am a deep, reflective, thoughtful person with an active, curious mind.
