More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am most passionate about the glory of God and talking with others about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I love encouraging people and helping them to think about what God is calling them to be.

I typically spend my leisure time

Writing computer code and developing a web application to use in a church that helps with spiritual disciplines, reading a book, memorizing scripture (right now I am back in Mark after spending some time in Ephesians), going bowling, playing cards, and getting into long conversations with friends about anything and everything.

The most influential person in my life has been

Someone who loves others and extends grace according to the measure they are loved by Christ. I want someone who is humble enough to know she doesn't deserve the lavish riches of God's grace, but who is eager to be a good steward of the gifts that God has given her and who delights in the way that God created her to be.

The first thing people notice about me

I listen and I care. For some reason I can be a magnet for people who are hurting and want someone to tell their stories to. I think people generally feel safe around me.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I am currently reading "The Secret Key to Heaven" (woo hoo puritans!!), "The Legacy of Sovereign Joy" (John Piper is my homeboy). I recently read "Disciplines for the Christian Life" by Don Whitney and enjoyed it.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. The grace of God given to me.
  2. The love I receive from my church.
  3. My family.
