More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

i am passionate about living my life in a way that fits my principles. i believe in trying your best to do the right and fair thing. constantly learning and teaching when the opportunity presents itself is important. loving unconditionally and forgiving are paramount, but of course never to the point of detriment and harm. enjoying life is necessary for balance as well.

I typically spend my leisure time

i like reading sites like salon.com and slate.com to satisfy my intellectual/political side. one of my frivolous hobbies is cosmetics--they're the adult female version of crayola crayons though daily i don't wear much make up. enjoying food and attending beer and wine tastings with friends is a joy.

The most influential person in my life has been

fidelity. and, while a little bit of mystery is important in every relationship at every stage, a certain level of transparency is needed, too. lastly, constantly learning from and about each other is crucial. i want to have moments when i look at my partner and say, "wow, i didn't know that about you! that's cool!" five, ten, twenty years down the line.

The first thing people notice about me

my exuberance.

The last book I read and enjoyed

velvet elvis by rob bell, the founding pastor of mars hill. by the cover and print style, it's meant for gen X or Y readers who are contemplative about their relationship with god and what it means to be christian. one of the things I like is bell's idea that faith is like a trampoline: you jump on it, it inspires you to jump higher, and you invite people to jump, too. faith shouldn't be something that excludes others bcs they believe differently re minutiae than you.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. my basic needs as a human are always met: water, food, air, shelter, spirituality/god
  2. the people in my life who love me and whom i love dearly
  3. my job is a satisfying challenge and always gives me opportunity to learn and grow

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

that despite my lack of stature, i'm no pushover. would save me having to bring out the bitchy.

A little more about me

i'm a keeper. you should be one, too.
