More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I'm most passionate about learning. I know that may be somewhat of a clich´┐Ż, but everyday I try to learn about something new. I love to sit and talk with someone and learn from them about their life experiences, their culture, etc. I love to make those kinds of connections with people where our conversations allow for the free flowing exchange of ideas where we both leave feeling like we've learned something.

I typically spend my leisure time

In my leisure time, I love to explore the area. I'm fairly new to the Pittsburgh area and have found that sometimes just driving somewhere and getting lost is incredibly exciting! There is so much here to see and do! When I'm not burning up my all-too-expensive gasoline, I love to read and watch movies. I'm a bit of a movie snob, but I'll read nearly anything. I also dabble a bit in writing, but not since I graduated college have I attempted to scribe anything...I need to work on that!

The most influential person in my life has been

The most important quality would be openness. I do not like to try and play "guess the emotion" with someone. It's not that I cannot read someone emotionally, but I'd rather know what's bothering someone than just pinpoint "Oh, you're angry/sad/frustrated/etc." Tell me why!

The first thing people notice about me

My openness and warmth. I've been told that I'm a good listener and I love to talk about any and everything with anyone who has something to say.

The last book I read and enjoyed

The last book I read was Fac-To-Tum by Charles Bukowski. The book detailed a segment of the life of down-on-his-luck Henry Chinaski, as he floats from one job to the next, the women coming and going from his life, and his life at the bottom of a bottle of whiskey. I liked that it is brutally honest, funny, sad, and "poetic" for lack of a better word.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Family
  2. Friends
  3. Life

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

My sense of humor. It's a bit on the sarcastic side, so I tend to have to warm people up before I can really let down my guard and make a joke without fear of having been misinterpreted.

Friends Describe me as

Dependable, Genuine, Good listener, Loyal
