The one thing I am passionate about...
Making the most of my life. I feel like God has blessed me in so many ways and I want to offer back excellence to Him. I want to be a better person, try harder throughout the day - everyday, and be able to go to sleep knowing that I was a good steward with the day I was given. I hope to have a husband and someday a family that I can love on and encourage and build up so that they can go out and do the same with their life.
I typically spend my leisure time
Shopping (especially BARGAIN shopping), traveling, going to Vegas, hanging out with friends, playing piano, singing, playing with my dog, going out to eat, hanging out with my family, learning to cook (it's a work in progress...I'm actually starting a series of 12 classes in January), selling stuff on eBay, golf lessons, church stuff - Bible study & choir, enjoying a good bottle of wine, movies, Dallas on DVD, organizing (myself & others), more travel...more shopping...
The most influential person in my life has been
Committment to faith in Christ. That is the basis for the decisions I make and the person I want to be. We're here to serve others. At the end of the day, what matters is showing love and a giving spirit to other people. I can't imagine being with someone who doesn't share the same perspective that's rooted in their faith. Someone who understands that their faith is just a part of who the person they are, not that God is sitting up there with a scorecard of the things we do and don't do...that's who I want to find!
The first thing people notice about me
People usually tell me that they are quickly comfortable when talking to me for the first time...like they've known me for a while.
The last book I read and enjoyed
Freakonomics - (Since I just can't get into sci-fi, fantasy, and the like, you'll usually find me reading books on finance, organization, self-help, etc. I'm far too much of a realist in that respect...) Freakonomics was interesting and focused on the "why" questions that you always wonder about basic things and, just overall, the real story behind many things in our world. It's a bit more leftist than I go for, but since I'm not entirely to the right either, it wasn't over the top. I'm not running around raving to everyone about it, but it was worthwhile.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My salvation and faith in Jesus Christ & His daily presence
- My loving, stable, low-drama family
- My job...one of my greatest joys is enjoying what I do for a living - its the only way to live!
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I'm very loyal!
Friends Describe me as
Easy-Going, Good listener, Loyal, Perceptive
A little more about me
I just realized that hardly anything in my profile mentions music! My degree is in Vocal Performance and I grew up playing the piano and violin. I sing in the choir at church and I used to sing with the Dallas Symphony Chorus. Obviously, music is something I love and a huge part of who I am, but I'm glad to not work in that field 24/7. I've found that I enjoy it a lot more when I'm not in that field all day every day. I LOVE dogs and think cats are worthless (and I'm allergic to them)! I totally loved Napoleon Dynamite. I hope to elope someday and skip the ridiculous big wedding. Texas is the best state ever.
