The one thing I am passionate about...
LIFE! I'm tired of being bogged down by the day to day grind. I surround myself with positive, uplifting things as much as possible. I believe that you get back what you give. I strive to give my very best to everyone I come in contact with. You never know when something as simple as complementing someone will be the high point of their day. There have been times when a simple smile from someone who didn't have to made all the difference in the world to me. Which is not to say that I'm Miss Suzie Optimism all the time--only that this is what I strive for. I want to be the woman God created me to be.
I typically spend my leisure time
Outside of my job, I am very involved in my church. I teach Sunday School, sing in the choir, and worship with the sign language team. I enjoy having my girlfriends over for impromptu dinners and movie/game nights. I love to read and can often be found curled up on the couch with a good book ignoring the pile of laundry that needs to be folded.
The most influential person in my life has been
Honesty, integrity, strength, tenderness, laughter...how could I possibly list just one thing?!
The first thing people notice about me
Usually my dimples...I am almost always smiling.
The last book I read and enjoyed
I've been re-reading Jan Karon's Mitford Series and am nearly done with the second book. I enjoy them because they are clean and reading them makes me feel like I'm coming home. The characters are warm and inviting and I like the way the author imbues value and meaning into the simplicities of day to day living. It's easy to miss the small, yet significant, moments in our lives because we are caught up in the swirling mass of larger drama. Her books always re-awaken me to the beauty that can be found in the little nooks and crannies of my life.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My relationship with Christ
- My family
- Raindrops and roses, laughter and lazy afternoon walks, pedicures with the girlz and pistachio ice cream...
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I am honestly not sure to answer this one. I know that, in general, most people formulate an opinion of some kind based on appearance and the first few words that are said. ...but I tend to be pretty transparent...wear my emotions on my sleeve, etc. Were I a poker player, I would lose every hand. WYSIWYG. Subterfuge never helped anyone. I prefer tactful directness and I think most people recognize this when they meet me.
Friends Describe me as
Creative, Genuine, Hard Working, Intelligent
A little more about me
I am a package deal. I am looking for someone who is willing to love and cherish my son as well as me. Additionally, my faith and church are of utmost importance to me. My ideal match will not be threatened by my relationship with Christ...rather He will be willing to step up to the plate, be the leader in his home, and grow closer to God with me.
