More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Learning -- I care a lot about expanding my own knowledge and helping others to do the same. Community -- I volunteer, give money, make an effort to look after those I consider my own in some way. Affection -- It's important to me to express caring and support in many ways, and it means a lot to me to receive those expressions in return, whether they come from friends, family, a partner, or my cats.I don't like a lot of TV shows, but will always watch figure skating competitions and building implosions. My favorite movies are usually British comedies, sci-fi epics or musicals.I will probably beat you at Scrabble.

I typically spend my leisure time

Reading, messing around on the computer, seeing friends, watching movies, doing Pagan things, volunteering, playing board and card games.

The most influential person in my life has been

Intelligence -- intellectual and emotional. I'd like to be able to have a conversation about history, but also to be heard when I talk about my feelings, and to offer my gifts of kindness and listening when my partner talks about his.

The first thing people notice about me

I have a silly laugh that some people find infectious, a large vocabulary, and an interesting, wide-ranging life.

The last book I read and enjoyed

Tess Gerritsen's "The Bone Garden," about a woman who finds a century-old corpse in her garden, with flashbacks that tell the story of who the dead woman was and how she got there. It's quite a vivid story, bringing to life the history of discrimination against the Irish in New England.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. my friends
  2. the beauty of the natural world -- a world I call sacred
  3. the opportunity to build a career that lets me be independent

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I am quite independent, and some people assume that means I don't need affection, kindness and support. Maybe I don't need those things, but I want them!

Friends Describe me as

Affectionate, Ambitious, Funny, Intelligent

A little more about me

I am strongly monogamous. Once pledged, I am loyal and expect the same of my partner.
