More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I love activities that take me to the wilderness. Canoeing, hiking, exploring. Recently, I have been photographing the ancient rock paintings in the Quetico Provincial Park in Canada. I am hoping to write a book on the subject one day.

I typically spend my leisure time

I love jumping into my Jeep and driving out into the forest with my digital camera. I usually drive around with my canoe strapped to the top, even when I am not using it. It makes me feel good.

The most influential person in my life has been

I am attracted to people that express their uniqueness. Tattoos, dreadlocks, motorcycles, foreign languages - these are personal qualities that tell me that this person is secure with themselves and are not afraid to reveal their true selves to the world.

The first thing people notice about me

I am very tall with long hair. I tend to my hair because it is a Native American tradition. A spiritual belief is that your hair is a reflection of your spiritual life. If you hair is in turmoil, chances are your spirit is the same.

The last book I read and enjoyed

The Botany of Desire. This book suggests that, instead of humans cultivating plants to create desirable fruits and flowers, plants entice humans serve them by delivering desirable fruits and flowers. The plants actually control our behaviors as humans. Interesting food for thought.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Good Health. I have really never been to see the doctor other than checkups.
  2. My Mother. Though she has already passed on, she taught me to be a sincere man, not bogged down with machiismo and insecure man issues.
  3. My son. I have a healthy, energetic 5-year old son who is the center of my life. He has given me new purpose and depth as a person. Through my relationship with him, I have learned patience, unconditional love and understanding.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I wish that it were noticeable that I am compassionate and friendly. For some reason, people are intimidated by me, maybe because of my height.
