More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I have to choose one thing? Impossible. Love my dog, my house, writing, photography, searching for answers surrounding life, death, the universe... Wondering if aliens exist and what that means for evolution throughout the universe... And how "God" fits into the big picture. Don't particularly believe in Darwinism, Intelligent Design or Creationism... Think there must be a simpler answer... Love how physics and religion butt heads but may be forced into the same corner one day in the near future... Wish all nations/religions could just get along... I guess I am most passionate about considering all the possibilities...

I typically spend my leisure time

Spend a lot of time thinking and hanging out with my dog. Coffee and conversation always good. Or Chai and Chess... Love movies. Work on my house a lot. Like comedy... Would love to go to the theatre more... Spend money on books like most women spend money on shoes... Sometimes walk out of Tattered Cover in a cold sweat... Like tennis though I haven't played in two years - Broke my right ankle in two places going for a particularly spectacular forehand... I am sooo joking about the spectacular part.... Like hiking, like wine though perhaps not at the same time... Am fascinated by how life plays itself.

The most influential person in my life has been

The ability to communicate, even when difficult. The ability to self-examine and be able to recognize when a way of being is just not working anymore. Ultimately, the ability to grow, to question, to understand that answers usually just lead to more questions. Pretty much the human condition... Where would we be if no one ever said, "I wonder if... what... why... how... where...".

The first thing people notice about me

Easy to talk to. Can converse about many things. Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. Am quite damn funny at times...

The last book I read and enjoyed

Just one? Currently reading "The European Dream" by Rifkin... Also "Spook" (explorations into what the afterlife really is)... "The Amber Spyglass" by Pullman (Alice in Wonderland/Lord of the Rings/Lion Witch Wardrobish... Lotsa physics, metaphysics and psychology in a fantastic story) "The Day I Became Stupid"... The War of Art... At Home In The Muddy Water (Using Zen in the everyday)... All books are quite delicious... The list goes on...

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My dog, Bodhi
  2. The ability to feel deeply, whether good or bad
  3. My creativity

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

Nothing. I'm happy with who I am and everyone owns what they choose to see.
