The one thing I am passionate about...
I am passionate about learning computer technical issues in a college environment - keeps me up to date. Hands on problem solving / fixing electrical and mechanical things (non-computer). I am self employed, my boss are my customers. Setting my own hours and choosing my work keeps lots of work more interesting. Taking on unfamiliar tasks expands my mind and keeps it sharp. I have no "Mondays" and no "Fridays", I work any day or take off any day. No one tells me when it's break time (blue coller). I am very much a handy man fix it capable kind of guy. I am passionate about investing $$ for my retirement, no debt, no poor house when I retire.
I typically spend my leisure time
I like whitewater rafting & camping and travel to Kentucky or Virginia every summer to partake in the wild fun. Also did Woodstock in 1999 - awesome.I would really like to buy a motor home and take an all summer road trip across the USA but just haven't found the right person to share the experience with. On a more spontaneous note, every once in a while, I enjoy CW line dancing, a good movie, or dinner out.For the more selfish side, I am a man with many projects - antique autos, computers, electronics. I am currently in to alternative auto fuels. I am open to new experiences - keeps life alive.
The most influential person in my life has been
Emotional stability, somewhat polished - not a hack, not grunge. Not a slave to fashion, thrifty - doesn't necessarily mean cheap or tight wad. Honest and not manipulative. Educated - life is less exciting the less you know.
The first thing people notice about me
I am always doing something sometimes entertainingly off beat, never board. That I am really a jack-of-all-trades. That can engage a conversation with ease and finally, I get this a lot, that I am very knowledgeable though it doesn't feel that way, I guess I don't watch enough TV.
The last book I read and enjoyed
"Alive" A true story in 1973 about a couple that survived four months on the open ocean in an inflatable life raft after there sailboat sank. I like non-fiction becouse it is real.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- A harmonious & loving famly.
- Many very solid long term friend ships.
- A broad education and the hunger to always learn more.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I can be very creative at solving a problem it is what do very well. I am also extremely patient. I am not insensitive, romance has been infrequent at best, I just keep burying my self in work.
Friends Describe me as
Creative, Easy-Going, Hard Working, Intelligent
A little more about me
My Achilles heal to dating, in my long standing effort to put many $$ away to cover my older years with no wife or children presently in sight. I have given up some social freedoms by living with my parents. This is a cardinal sin when it comes to looking for a date which I pretty much no longer do for that primary reason. I am not unhappy, customers, family, and extensive social network keep life quite comfortable. I do feel though that I may be missing out in the area of romance. So my profile on eHarmony is sort of putting the feelers out to see if any one would really have any interest in a not-so-average guy.
