More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I'm most passionate about the people in my life. I would sacrifice just about everything for those I love, and their happiness is something I'm constantly aware of.

I typically spend my leisure time

I've recently taken up tennis (at least I'm trying - still not very good!) and I like being active, roller blading, hiking, playing with dogs. One of my fav. things is going out to dinner. I love trying new places which makes living in NYC ideal! If I'm staying in, I LOVE to read just about anything or write. I had a fleeting thought in college of majoring in creative writing until it dawned on me, just because I like it, doesn't mean I'm very good. I do it for fun and for release.

The most influential person in my life has been

I'mlooking for someone I can feel totally comfortable with, who will support my choices but also be comfortable helping me to see things in another way. I want someone to go out to nice dinners with on a Saturday night, then sit in and watch football Sunday afternoon (HUGE Steelers fan!) I need someone willing to put just as much effort into a relationship as I do. I'm not high maintence, but I do need to feel the other person wants to be there and want it to work.

The first thing people notice about me

My nickname around the office is "Sunshine". Even those time when I may infact be in a bad mood, I try to greet everyone with a smile and be as helpful and kind as possible. There's a Margaret Cho bit about Charlie's Angels and groups of girlfriends. With my 2 bestfriends in college, I was always "The Nice One" (you should check out the bit-so funny, and SO true!)

The last book I read and enjoyed

Pledged, a behind-the-scenes look at sorority life. I was briefly in a sorority in college before disaffiliating. This book cracked me up (and frightened me) with how intense Greek life is in the South (I went to school in the North). Not my typical book (HUGE F.Scott Fitzgerald fan - own them all) but a it's summer, and this was a PERFECT beach read!

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. I'm thankful for the health and well-being of the people closest to me
  2. I'm thankful for the second chances I've had to overcome mistakes or poor decisions
  3. I'm thankful for the things I've learned and the ways I've grown from said mistakes

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I wish people would realize that just because I'm friendly, bubbly and outgoing, I'm not an idiot and rude or inconsiderate behavior CAN upset me. I deserve your respect. I'm well-educated, ambitious and diversely experienced. I just prefer to be NICE to people.

A little more about me

Part of my charm is my unique ability to be a fully and successful functioning adult while still acting like a kid. My sense of humor is goofy, I laugh at my own jokes and I love singing and dancing in the car.
