More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Writing screenplays and poetry; creating a beautiful environment; making daily life inspiring.

I typically spend my leisure time

Mostly writing, but also love reading, singing, decorating, traveling to other countries, hunting for antiques and collectibles, doing collage work (cut and paste), designing crochet, interaction with pets, walking in the woods and by the water, watching good movies, and listening to good music. I have always wished I could learn to dance.

The most influential person in my life has been

My ideal man would be one who is strong in character and presence, a bit fatherly, the right "chemistry," capable of devotion, one that likes animals and children, and is interested in me, not possessive or controlling, someone I can talk to easily. It would be great if he also likes to sing (I do) and is politically liberal (because I am). But I am not looking for perfection; simply, someone compatible, spiritually minded, passionate, and kind.

The first thing people notice about me

Kindness, openness and honesty. I am an empathic listener and can relate to nearly everyone.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I always read more than one at a time. This week I read these books:The Lie Detectors: The History of an American Obsession by Ken Adler (fascinating - I liked the colorful biographies in it the best).Cheating at Canasta (collection of short stories) by William Trevor (really liked this although it was depressing at times). His Illegal Self by Peter Carey, a novel placed in the 60s - excellent writing with very real characters and highly entertaining. The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls about her amazing childhood.Sweeter the Juice by Shirlee Taylor Haizlip about finding black family members who had "turned white."

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. A lively and rich inner life.
  2. Children that love me. My little dog Sammy, Oscar, my 21-year old cat, and Kennedy, a kitten.
  3. Opportunities for adventure, learning, and expressing love.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I have many unusual and unique life experiences to share. For instance, I used to teach college classes to sailors on U. S. Navy ships at sea. I have been many places!

Friends Describe me as

Creative, Genuine, Perceptive, Sweet
