The one thing I am passionate about...
I'm most passionate for learning, and being curious about life in general. That would include just about everything, learning to cook or fixing a leaky window and loose siding on the house, or trying to figure out why the engine light is on, science, biology etc. I like to put hands-on experience on what I've learned as well, and I seem to excel where I can work, learn, and teach others sharing the same interests. I will help anyone who seems in need of help. I tend to be interested in a lot of different things that most people take for granted, or may even overlook altogether.
I typically spend my leisure time
There is nothing more leisurable than a sunset motorcycle ride, and then watching a full moon rise over the horizon on the way home during a crisp fall evening. I also like to do alot of little projects around the house. I have a lot of hobbies... photography, mechanical interests, motorcycling, outdoor activities, during the winter I like to snowmobile (if we ever get snow) there is something about a nice winter day that makes me feel alive, ice fishing, hiking. Also like museums, and historical things... although I seldom spend the time. When I can't do those... a rented movie, a frozen pizza and beer can be a good substitute :)
The most influential person in my life has been
A woman who is self-assured and confident and thinks outside the box when faced with a problem. Happy with who she is and has a diverse personality that is capable of growth. Very honest, very sincere and real. Intelligent and likes to learn about new stuff and has a sense of adventure about it. Outgoing. I appreciate a certain kind of craziness that adds life to any circumstance, but not the kind of "craziness" that can be diagnosed as clinical insanity (like that needs to be explained... geesh?!?) A person that focuses on things of substance in a relationship, and looks good wearing a baseball cap :)
The first thing people notice about me
Probably my willingness to lend a helping hand, being friendly and comfortable with people... striking up a conversation and kidding around with perfect strangers. People seem to notice that I know my stuff when I'm talking about something. People who are familar with me mention that I say stuff that really gets them to think about things in a different way. And they say that I'm funny when I'm having fun... I tend to say things that are subtle, but will make beer shoot out of people's noses. :)
The last book I read and enjoyed
Under and Alone. It was about an undercover FBI agent that managed to infiltrate an outlaw motorcycle gang and run an investigation on illegal activity without them catching on. They would have killed him if they found out he was really a cop. I couldn't put the book down.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- A mind that is capable of figuring things out... even if it takes some time :)
- Friends and family that I know will be there for me if I needed their help
- A good attitude on life... take the good with the bad and learn lessons from both
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
Being genuine... I tend to be real at all times. I may sometimes choose not to say anything, but when I do... it's always the real thing.
Friends Describe me as
Easy-Going, Funny, Genuine, Intelligent
A little more about me
I grew up on a farm in Minnesota and that kind of lifestyle still holds a place in my heart... it's one reason why I still live in a quiet rural area; although, there is still plenty to do around here. I don't have anything to do with the family farm any more. My folks are still married. They will celebrate their 57th anniversary this summer, so they have been a good example for me to try and follow.
