The one thing I am passionate about...
I love a lot of things about life. I feel very lucky to "be". My favorite way to be happy is playing tennis, rock climbing, getting good exercise in each day when I can. I am not crazy competitive, but I do like to be in great shape to compete well. I miss water terribly, living in Vegas, but I get myself to the beach as often as possible. Mostly, I just like how I feel when I get to play/climb/run/whatever. I am passionate about a great many things. There is so much to see and do and learn, and people are fascinating creatures.
I typically spend my leisure time
Split equally between reading to learn, various exercise activities, travel, and home improvement. For exercise, I like to play tennis, rock climb, yoga, pilates, and cross fit. I play golf pretty badly, but I still like to play! I also have a little bit of home exercise equipment and sometimes it's just nice to jump on a piece of cardo equipment and zone out to come down from a demanding day.
The most influential person in my life has been
At this point in life, I think I know that I am most interested in people who are pretty intelligent, and very active. A man with a positive attitude coupled with a strong intellect will interest me in nearly any subject, and a man who is active; plays sports, climbs mountains, surfs, whatever - will find a great companion in me.
The first thing people notice about me
Most people are surprised when they discover my age. I guess that never having children or having been married (or divorced!) has allowed me many many full nights of sleep, so I am almost always smiling, relaxed and more energetic than a lot of people my age.
The last book I read and enjoyed
Oh dear. I am very embarassed to admit that I thought that "50 Shades of Grey" was great fun and a hilariously immature romp through sexual exploration and adulthood. I enjoyed it thoroughly, even though I read it on a plane with a hairy, snoring old man asleep on my shoulder.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- A confident, strong mind and heart.
- The fact that I feel generally content and happy and able to genuinely enjoy life most of the time.
- The ability to earn a good income so I can make choices, instead of being forced to do things only to survive.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
My friends tell me that I do a very bad job "noticing" men in public situations. I tend not to look around a room full of strangers very much. I am looking at, and listening intently to, whoever I happen to be with. However that doesn't mean I wouldn't like to meet someone new. I think it would be great if I could wear a sign that says, "Interrupt me and join the conversation. I would love to hear what you have to say."
