The one thing I am passionate about...
I am most passionate about my job as a school counselor. I love working with middle school students. I think this is such a great age because they are so impactful and are learning about who they are and who they want to be. They are growing emotionally, physically, socially, and spiritually. This is the age they start asking themselves bigger questions and begin to think on a higher level. Kids these days are curious about life and looking for people to model after. I love that I have the opportunity to encourage them in this journey. I get excited when kids come and talk to me, and trust me enough to share their life with me.
I typically spend my leisure time
I enjoy reading, hanging out/talking with friends, movies, walking around Green Lake, writing in my journal, taking pictures, and church activities. I enjoy being outside: biking, hiking. I love helping with youth activities, going to retreats, leadership conferences, and summer camps.
The most influential person in my life has been
Someone who shares my desire to know and walk with God. A companion with similar interests, who encourages me and challenges me to keep growing as a person.
The first thing people notice about me
My quiet/calming presense. I tend to be a person who is very observant and thoughtful, quick to listen before I jump in with somthing to say.
The last book I read and enjoyed
I'm currently reading The Journey of Desire by John Eldredge. We all have a deep longing for more in life (romance, intimacy, beauty, and adventure), yet somehow it's gotten lost along our journey. I love this book because it challenges me to tap into my hearts desire/passions, vs living from a dutiful obilgated mentality. We were created to live an abundant life and it starts with recognizing our desire/passion.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- I am thankful that I have a very supportive family who I can count on
- I am thankful for my wonderful roommates and all my friends
- I am thankful for my job, I actually get paid to do what I love to do
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
My sense of humor. I tend to be more reserved at first until I feel more comfortable with people. People who I know and feel comfortable around say that that I have have a good sense of humor and make them laugh easily.
Friends Describe me as
