The one thing I am passionate about...
I care about the way that people live their lives. Do they take time to enjoy life? Do they base their sense of self on their possessions or their job title? Do they have self awareness of how they affect others and their surroundings? I am unhappy with the paradigm that Americans live with. I tend to have a more European outlook on life and the world.
I typically spend my leisure time
I love being outdoors; hiking, camping, fishing, horseback riding, boating, relaxing on the beach; love it! I like reading a good book. Having lunch/dinner/coffee with a friend. Road-trips. New places. Mountains. Museums; natural history, historic, art. Live theater, live music, dancing...
The most influential person in my life has been
Someone who has "old fashioned values". Not the racist, sexist ones though! Things like, integrity, selflessness, respect for others and pride in one's work.
The first thing people notice about me
My smile. But I guess that's part of my appearance. Hmmm... I'll have to get back to that one later.
The last book I read and enjoyed
I read this awhile ago, but "The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz is an awesome book. It's an easy read, I highly recommend it. The Four Agreements can be summed up as follows: Be Impeccable With Your Word. Don't Take Anything Personally. Don't Make Assumptions. Always Do Your Best. Four short little sentences- a lifetime of wisdom. Try living by them, it isn't easy!
The three things which I am most thankful for
- I appreciate the fact that my parents and extended family are alive and well.
- I am most blessed with my beautiful daughter. I could not have asked for a more wonderful little person.
- I am grateful to have lived in many places, experienced different things and met many interesting people.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I get annoyed when I have to demonstrate that I do have a brain. This usually happens to me in Home Depot or when I visit an auto mechanic.
Friends Describe me as
Creative, Easy-Going, Good listener, Perceptive
A little more about me
You can take me out to a formal affair one weekend and the next I'll assemble a tent and build a campfire. I'll bait a hook, pound a nail and fix a leak. I enjoy being a Tomboy. I'd like a man who can appreciate that. Don't get me wrong though, I believe a man should wear the pants in the family. I'm not butch either. I am all female. I just know how to do a few things around the house. I'd like a guy whom I could learn from in that area and take me out without embarrassing me in a nice restaurant. Is that too much to ask?
