More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am really passionate about finding my place in this world and being very true to fulfilling that purpose. To me this means in many ways - in my relationships with family and friends, in my vocation which allows me to help people who really need my skills, and in just "being" -- finding the place physically and spiritually where I am most true to my own purpose in life. This sounds easy but I think it takes time, effort and discernment.

I typically spend my leisure time

I love climbing and outdoor sports, especially rock climbing and especially in Yosemite. I also have a big dog, show dogs (mostly his kids) and have bred a litter of 14 puppies. I am currently learning to mountain bike so I am really excited about that and getting out biking. When I am in the city I can be more of a homebody during the week especially in the winter and spend time with my dog, catch up with friends at night on the phone, make slow progress on home improvements and do stuff with some outdoor clubs I belong too. I tend to take a bunch of small 1-3 week vacations each year to ski, climb or occasionally just to travel.

The most influential person in my life has been

I am looking for someone who is warm and sincere and willing to invest themselves in the success of all their relationships. Integrity being the most important quality.

The first thing people notice about me

Energy...hard for me to explain but others are always trying to explain it to me.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I just read "A Million Little Pieces" which Oprah raves about, which is a book about a man going through drug rehab and kind of doing it his own way. I thought it was riveting and at first I thought I didn't get much more out of it besides entertainment. Fortunately for me the struggle with addiction didn't remind me of myself or anyone I know, which is what I think draws many people to this book. But, one of the messages "Hold on" has actually been sticking with me and has been inspiring recently when things are not going the best.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Being alive!
  2. Being given so many talents and choices in life
  3. The love of my close friends
