More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I take friends, family and work all very seriously. I am forever working to improve myself and others around me. This factors into most things I do, including my profession. Work provides the means for my passions: golf and travel. I love hitting the road on a last minute trip to wherever the best deal is or my friends are. Aside from getting out of the ordinary, experiencing a different culture and way of life is what my travels are all about.

I typically spend my leisure time

In good weather-- on the golf course. Otherwise, it's in my recliner or on my couch with a great book or watching a movie, thinking about being curled up with someone special. If it's nice out, I'm usually wanting to go ride a motorcycle, ATV or soon... snow mobile.

The most influential person in my life has been

The ability to laugh and learn from life's hiccups. She has to be comfortable with her feelings, sharing the emotions, and upfront and honest.

The first thing people notice about me

How easy it is to talk to me.

The last book I read and enjoyed

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time. It was the second time I have read it. It's a great book that is written from an autistic boy's perspective in life. Great insight into what an autistic's mind and thought process could be. There's some really dry humor where it was more of a "you had to be there" as I told friends about certain parts, but I laughed out loud several times.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Friends and family who have been there through the best of times and the worst of times.
  2. The experiences I have encountered and friends I have made throughout my life, education and travels.
  3. Roof over my head, clothes on my back, food in my fridge and circumstances that provide these.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

Laughing about my reaction when talking about MN's sub-arctic temperatures during the winter is my way of crying for fear. Negative 30 is not in this southern boy's vocabulary. Now I'm in IA and am not sure what to think...

Friends Describe me as

Caring, Genuine, Good listener, Hard Working

A little more about me

The profile came back as though I'm a big softie... it's right to an extent. I'm all about the feelings and whatever else. I was one year into a MS in Mental Health Counseling before I switched to the dark side (a MS in HR Management (basically an MBA)). My profession requires that I am always on guard and Mr. Prim and Proper. When I get home, I like to be comfortable enough to drop all guards and be me.
