More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Politics and current events. I love AM talk radio, NPR, CSPAN, etc. I tend to spend too much time thinking about politics (domestic and international). There was a time when I would have said that I was a conservative, but anymore I think that "independent" fits much better. I just can't buy that all of the issues can be dichotomized in the ways that the two parties have them.

I typically spend my leisure time

books, talking about books, job searching lately (just finished school), etc.

The most influential person in my life has been

intelligence and compassion (i cheated - i chose two :)

The first thing people notice about me

I'm typically quiet at first

The last book I read and enjoyed

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, by Jonathan Safron Foer. On the surface, it was about a nine year-old boy named Oskar, whose father died in the WTC on 9/11 and his quest to learn more about his dad. The book is great because it comes from many different perspectives over 3 generations (Oskar, his parents, and his grandparents, each of whom is narrator at some point, except for his mom and dad) and deals with ideas of huge importance which transcend time and culture: home, war, love, desire, loss, art, intellect, secrets, etc. I also like how this book seemed to have been told in layers (ran out of space - read yourself to understand

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. the idea of a merciful God
  2. thought
  3. relationships (romantic, friendly, etc.)

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I hate stupid and foul humor

Friends Describe me as

Creative, Easy-Going, Funny, Thoughtful
