The one thing I am passionate about...
What matters most to me is connecting deeply with people. I realize how rare true intimacy is and how tenderly it must be cultivated and protected. Honesty, acceptance, compassion, kindness are the most important traits I offer and the traits I value in others. My spirituality is the center of my life.
I typically spend my leisure time
Reading, walking, gardening, time w/friends, singing in my car--bluegrass, gospel, Christmas carols, standards, classic rock & roll. Be forewarned--I didn't say I was a good singer.
The most influential person in my life has been
The willingness to be emotionally intimate.
The first thing people notice about me
That I'm straightforward & transparent. I don't play games. What you see is what you get.
The last book I read and enjoyed
Carl Jung autobiography. He had a fascinating mind, combined with a deep understanding of the importance of growing the soul. I tried to read the book about 4 years ago & did not enjoy it at all. This time around, I was mesmerized.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- my friends
- my spiritual journey
- my joy in life
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I don't think much about what people notice about me. Others will view me through the prism of their own experiences. Hmm...okay, here's one. People sometimes see me as quiet, when I am actually an observer who attempts not to hang onto snap judgments. Instead, I observe, reflect and absorb.
Friends Describe me as
Dependable, Funny, Kind, Spiritual
A little more about me
Love me, love my cats. And I'm not looking for someone to make my life perfect (I keep thinking the perfect haircut will do that sometime, someday; if I'm wrong about that, I don't want to know). That I write fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and one of my fears is that there won't be enough time to write everything I hope to write.
