The one thing I am passionate about...
I enjoy my work in helping others; exploring by motorcycle, car, camping, hiking, the outdoors... getting friends together for softball and BBQ's, comedy, and deep discussions about relationships, friendships, introspection. I like a spirited dialogue, whatever the subject, often taking an opposing perspective simply to explore a potentially unexplored path... It's important that my friends know they can confide in, and depend on, my understanding, candidness, & confidentiality, as well as an alternate perspective.
I typically spend my leisure time
I enjoy occasional socializing at a local eatery, a few cocktails with friends, and, that stimulating conversation I mentioned - which I rarely find there. I also enjoy my solitude, and often head out on my motorcycle to get my face in the wind, as it's a good time to think, and relax. Group rides are OK, too, but I prefer the ease of a small cadre of friends who share this passion.
The most influential person in my life has been
An outdoors type, with an adventurous spirit, sometimes content to sit home with a good movie, and possessing a sense of humor & wit that can give as well as take. I sometimes need an intuitive nudge to open up, since I often feel those things which I'm passionate about either bore most people, or are too personal to share openly.
The first thing people notice about me
Lately, it's been their perception that I've somehow become much younger than they remember. So far, very few even asked - much less noticed - that I shaved a mustache I've had almost since my youth.
The last book I read and enjoyed
Big Tim & Me - Tim Russert: Still working on this one, as recreational reading is a rare commodity in my life these days.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My sense of awe for the experiences I enjoy, & the passion from which they stem
- The ability, necessity, & obligation to laugh at myself, and to see humor where others may not.
- The companionship, friendship, and loyalty of my dogs
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
That I enjoy stimulating conversation. I want more than conversation for the sake of hearing oneself speak... It should be as a good cup of coffee - just as stimulating, & difficult to sleep after.
Friends Describe me as
Articulate, Easy-Going, Funny, Passionate
A little more about me
There are so many activities I enjoy doing, and I seek someone with whom to share in it. I enjoy most cultural activies, particularly music & theatre, but they are not the focus of what I consider my primary "fun" activities. I'm open to new things, and seek to share interests with someone who's adventurous, provocative, stimulating & easy-going. I love the elegance a woman exudes, particularly if she's not afraid to dress down, or get her hands dirty. I prefer a slower pace in romantic relationships, at least until I'm comfortable enough to "let my hair down". I've learned to be patient in waiting for the things I want in love and romance.
