More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Self exploration is a passion of mine--getting to the heart of what has influenced me and finding out what I'm really about is key. I'm searching for a more authentic, positive way of viewing myself and redefining what really matters. The real challenge has been to recognize self-defeating behaviors and actually change them! I can see how developing myself and working hard on my issues has helped me to become a better friend/listener/employee. I hope it will make me a great companion/wife/parent someday.

I typically spend my leisure time

I spend time with friends, go to dance classes, see films, as well as go to concerts and the theater. I'm also a voracious reader. I'm usually in the middle of 2 or 3 books at a time. I travel when I can--Oahu last year, London/Paris in September '07, Boston/Martha's Vineyard/Cape Cod this summer.I'm also active in the Big Brother/Big Sister program.

The most influential person in my life has been

I want to spend my life with someone who's hard-working, sincere, and funny. I need someone who brings optimism, humor, and peace into tense situations.

The first thing people notice about me

I'm very friendly and outgoing. I have an "easy" smile and warm personality.

The last book I read and enjoyed

The Known World by Edward P. Jones was "too good." It's hard to describe how talented this man is. What a way with words! The story and its characters are genuine and heartbreaking, hopeful, yet hopeless.A surprising tale of triumph in a difficult period of Black history.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. God's grace, mercy, and protection
  2. Opportunities to learn and grow
  3. Education

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I would like for people to notice how funny and nice I am even when I'm not smiling. (Kind of impossible, how could they guess?) At work, I put forth a pretty serious and polished persona just so I can seem professional. It doesn't mean I'm uptight--just taking care of business.

Friends Describe me as

Funny, Genuine, Spiritual, Warm

A little more about me

I'm honest. I'm real. Let's talk.
