The one thing I am passionate about...
I lead a life that reflects my core values, such as environmentalism and animal protection issues (do it, don't preach about it is my motto). I am a long-time vegetarian who dabbles in politics, and have invested lots of time volunteering and giving back to the community.
I typically spend my leisure time
Oh, the joy of chocolate! I pedal for miles and miles to work off those heavenly chocolate morsels. Recently participated in a Century Series bike ride and completed more than 70 miles. Picnics on the beach watching the sunset. Also hiking, traveling, reading whodunits, and movies (recent releases or classic B&W films). Listening to NPR. Camping in lovely spots like Big Sur.
The most influential person in my life has been
Someone who is intelligent; charismatic; fun and open to new places, people and ideas; who enjoys hiking or biking, day trips, and traveling; and is sensitive to others' needs. Romance is crucial, as is dependability, great communication, and a sense of humor. Not a pre-requisite, but I love old-fashioned manners, such as opening doors for me. Motivated men also are appealing. Once we exchange phone numbers, it will make a great impression if you tend to initiate the phone calls for the first month. I'm respectful, and conscientious about returning phone calls. If it's not working for me, I'll let you know so you don't waste your time.
The first thing people notice about me
The last book I read and enjoyed
Cruel and Unusual by Patricia Cornwell. It's a page-turner with lots of interesting and flawed characters. A good murder mystery.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My friends and family
- Opportunities to travel and broaden my mind and life experiences
- Living in northern California surrounded by tremendous natural beauty
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I'm pretty straightforward and don't feel particularly misunderstood.
Friends Describe me as
Affectionate, Good listener, Hard Working, Sweet
A little more about me
I maintain my youthful appearance through exercise -- not surgery or Botox. And shopping at the mall does not qualify as exercise in my world. :-)The Century Series bike ride was a great experience and I'm planning another long bike ride next year, which means I'll train for it for a minimum of 3 months. Would love to have an additional person join me on the ride next year!
