The one thing I am passionate about...
It is the person I am becoming that is important. I value being an overcomer and the ability to look into the hearts of others. I'm most happy when I'm outdoors, being physically active and love making things beautiful. I have compassion on those who have suffered & am compelled to be a friend who can listen as they work it all out. I love to laugh; the kind of laughter that is shared only between those who have come to know and love each other well.
I typically spend my leisure time
I love spending time with those I love. I garden, do yoga & hike to stay fit. I also like to carve out time to be with God and refresh my spirit. I am a total outdoor girl. When in nature I feel most alive. I'd love to learn to sail and kayak. Looking at an adventure trip to Ireland to hike the shores of Dingle & a Pilgrimage to Iona, Scotland this year. In July 2015 I summited Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise funds for Wild Hope International. I doubt I'll ever do this again, but the take-away from God will last me a lifetime.
The most influential person in my life has been
I'm drawn to a combination of both depth and humor in a man; a best friend I can both laugh & cry with. A man who has a kind, gentle & loving side & knows the importance of placing God first in his life. I'd like him to be able to share my love of nature and have a level of energy that matches mine. We both ask the same question: How does God want us to serve Him and each other?
The first thing people notice about me
I ask thoughtful questions as I have a genuine desire to know & show interest in people & what's important to them. People often tell me I am younger than my chronological age. I'm not gonna lie, I love hearing that! :)
The last book I read and enjoyed
Timothy Keller's The Meaning of Marriage. It made me understand marriage from a Kingdom perspective. The most important thing is being & choosing a best friend; the kind who loves sacrificially and whose goal, through the sharpening process, is to become more like Christ. There is no other relationship quite like marriage for this potential.I'm now reading a book about running: Born to Run by Christopher McDougall. It's an intertaining and easy read about a hidden Indian tribe of super athletes. Another book is Lee Gerdes' Limitless You. It's about brain neuroplasticity and a method called brain optimization.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- God's love and acceptance of me
- My health and vitality
- My desire to make a difference
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I have a fun-loving, ridiculously silly side
Friends Describe me as
Affectionate, Good listener, Physically Fit, Thoughtful
A little more about me
I love adventure almost as much as laughter and moments of sharing from the heart. I need someone who likes to live sort of on the edge to spur me on. Living in the moment is just as important as planning carefully for the future. In the recent past I've loved motorcycle rides in the country with my face in the wind and swimming in the warm, salty Atlantic. When I love it's with my whole heart. Total honesty and integrity are an integral part of all my relationships.
