More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Movies (I'm a part-time film critic), music, writing, cooking, going out or spending time with friends, theater, traveling. Of course, love, life and the friends I've made.

I typically spend my leisure time

Watching movies, learning to cook, hanging out with friends, trying to find another project to work on. I also volunteer for an arts education organization and am currently taking ballroom/swing dance lessons, just for the hell of it.

The most influential person in my life has been

Honesty, warmth and friendship. I would like someone who can tolerate whatever shortcomings I have, but also push me to grow, expand and explore. Someone who will make me laugh and who can appreciate the finer things in life, like travel, trying new restaurants, movies, weird humor, indie rock and an insane cat.

The first thing people notice about me

I'm shy, but friendly.

The last book I read and enjoyed

Any Place I Hang My Hat, by Susan Isaacs. It's about a journalist who tries to track down her mother who left her behind when she was a baby. I like that the author didn't sentimentalize the meeting of the two characters at the end. It was exactly as it should have been, with no hugs or kisses (not that I'm against such things. It just wouldn't have suited the characters or the narrative). The outcome of the romantic sub-plot was a bit forced, but at least it helped make the author's point.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. The love and friendships I've had over the years that continue to grow.
  2. Being raised by two parents who instilled in me good values, good taste and confidence.
  3. Being born and raised in Chicago

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I'm funny and I'm okay being on a stage.

Friends Describe me as

Caring, Creative, Funny, Intelligent

A little more about me

I'm a certifiable movie freak. I write movie reviews on the net and do weekly appearences on a radio show here in Chicago. My day job is far less exciting. I'm also a videographer and have completed a documentary of my own. There's more to me than that, of course. I have a very generous heart and I'm very open to trying new things.
