More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

The environment, social injustice, my friends and family, animals, communication, the glass being half full, self-improvement and evolution, being present, being compassionate, sharing my life with another, writing/directing film, physical fitness, dancing, singing, laughing, grinning... love.

I typically spend my leisure time

Ah... the fun stuff. When it's not too cold, rollerblading or cycling in Central Park, writing my screenplay at a local caf´┐Ż, visiting museums, walking all over the place, practicing Yoga, working out at the gym, taking my Mini Cooper-S for a spin, hanging out with my buddies, playing with my nieces & nephew as often as possible!

The most influential person in my life has been

Curiosity, without which the mind/spirit atrophies. Please be someone who is interested in the world at large, and loves this wonderful planet. A person who is looking to expand your horizons all the time. Additionally, a willingness to be open and present to whatever comes along... because this is life, afterall, and unless you're in it, it will pass you by.

The first thing people notice about me

Does my smile count as my "appearance"? Hmm... My easy, and contagious, laugh (see? and that gets my smile right in there...) (My excessive, use of, commas, and parentheses?)

The last book I read and enjoyed

"The Way of the Shaman" by Michael Harner (fascinated with shamanism of late; the spiritual practice which dates back thousands of years, was independently adopted by indigenous peoples the world over and consists of nearly the identical precepts: the earth is a single entity and we are all connected, (in a rather simplistic nutshell)). "Don't Think of an Elephant" by George Lakoff; fascinating, about conceptual framing and the Republican Dictatorship (my phrase, not his...). Currently: "Spiritwalker" by Hank Wesselman (more shamanism).

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My friends and family
  2. My journey and the lessons therein (and the fact that I look, and feel, at least 10 years younger than my age!)
  3. My emotional/spiritual tenacity

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That behind my silly, playful, sometimes over the top personality, lives a pretty serious person. I tend to strike a happy medium when I get to know someone, but upon first appearances, I can be rather "intense"... (Just one thing? OK. I'll leave it there then.)

Friends Describe me as

Creative, Genuine, Intelligent, Spiritual

A little more about me

I'm a pretty honest and open person (though I know how to be diplomatic, or just keep my mouth shut when necessary), I love to talk, communicate, philosophize, theorize, or just sit quietly & watch the sun go down... and while I'm looking for the love of my life, the man who can just look at me, shake his head and laugh, while pulling me into his arms... I am unwilling to settle for less. I'm pretty happy with who I am, and rather than "complete me", I'm looking for an equal, a partner, to take my hand and walk beside me through the rest of our lives together.
