More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am passionate about learning, both new things about the world, and what is currently percolating inside my head and heart. To balance that intellectual side there is the passionate dancer (I discovered I love to dance two years ago by taking ballroom dance lessons. I particularly enjoy the Latin dances). It is a fun way to exercise, and express the emotion of the music; it can be quite a zen-like experience as well! I believe strongly that I am here on Earth to bring about greater goodness in my small and large interactions. So, I am attentive to what is going on around me. Kindness matters.

I typically spend my leisure time

Dancing (either in the living room or a club or ballroom event), writing, reading, Book or movie discussions, appreciating art or music when my son is at his dad's home. When he's with me, I still read aloud to him a chapter a night. I recently planned a mystery party (set, circa 1965, an elegant MOMA fundraiser/exhibit "Jewels of India" and Paintings (by one of my friends) something a la James Bond. I wrote 10 parts for both adults and two 12 year old boys. My son played the detective! It was a lot of fun.

The most influential person in my life has been

I'm looking for honest communication. Sharing discoveries, from self awareness to something interesting or funny from the day, enhances the experience. Even sharing what is painful or upsetting is an opportunity for connection. For love is a verb,it is shown by actions, particularly the small ones, like listening well, or a hug, or a supportive note in the lunchbox.

The first thing people notice about me

Some see confidence, or fire and light in these blue eyes.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My LIFE! There's so much to experience!
  2. Beauty - in words, pictures, people, the earth , the mysteries of the universe
  3. My son - He has stretched, mellowed and strengthened me into a better human being.
