The one thing I am passionate about...
I care deeply about decency and fair play, and the integrity of the people in my life. I love friends, great movies, traveling to new and old favorite places, reading, cooking, and trying new things -- I guess the most honest overall answer is that I'm passionate about life.
I typically spend my leisure time
Since I'm retired, all my time is leisure -- so that I volunteer weekly at a couple of places, play Bridge, entertain where needed with a small singing group, see family and friends, read, travel. I find it impossible to sit home alone and do nothing -- so I'll putter around. But I love to cook a real meal when home, rather than just dumping some cereal in a bowl.
The most influential person in my life has been
I am looking for an intelligent man, someone who is warm, loving, and considerate, anticipates the future with hope and energy, and of course has a good sense of humor.
The first thing people notice about me
I'm really not sure -- probably that I am fairly outgoing, able to talk easily with people I've just met, and put them at ease.
The last book I read and enjoyed
The book is "City of Light", about Buffalo at the turn of the 20th century. It is fiction, with a bunch of real people as characters, and facts about the birth of hydroelectricity and Niagara Falls, how labor was treated and immigrants viewed. Very interesting -- and all new knowledge for me.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My three children -- independent adults with their own families.
- My good health & associated energy and physical appearance.
- My financial security and the home it enables me to maintain.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I've given this question a lot of thought, and still can't come up with something. I think I'm pretty much an open book.
Friends Describe me as
Affectionate, Dependable, Energetic, Intelligent
A little more about me
I am a widow with many good things and many good people in my life, but I don't have a good man of my own. I don't like being alone -- I feel incomplete. If you've been without a companion for a while, then you know what I mean. I want someone to share my life with, and who will welcome me into his. I'm sure that compatibility and chemistry will give us a wonderful life together.
