Depends. Sometimes with a special person; Sometimes exercising; Sometimes traveling; Sometimes watching tv it all really depends.
"White Collar Zen" First, not a crazy religion book, just a book that attempts to blend some concepts of Eastern thought in the Western work place, authored by local professor. Bottom line, try to remove your personal feelings from work place conflicts and see the other point of view, process the situation, and try to resolve same in an amicable fashion. Not the 'sexiest' book, but kind of alright in its place, and one that had an authored lecture per 'Books & Books'
I don't know and I am not sure how much it really matters. I believe one ingredient to relationships and/or friendships is is time. With time, the question posed above get answered. I do not concern myself with what "others" think on a fleeting/superficial basis. In a true relationship and/or friendship this question is more than answered by the people in your life that matter. I am not sure I can give a more precise within the confines of this box.
