More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I'm the most passionate about people and music. My friends and family mean a great deal to me and they are my #1 priorities in life. The music I listen to means a lot to me and it provides me with a whole other realm in my mind for all kinds of reflection and emotional outlet. I also love sports and competing.

I typically spend my leisure time

My leisure time goes all over the place. I spend a lot of time with friends in any various locales, from homes to bars. I also spend some of my leisure time by myself, either reading or having quality time with the TiVo. I also spend a lot of time playing sports or engaged in some random athletic pursuit.

The most influential person in my life has been

I guess I'm looking for an open mind. I'm looking for someone that can see all the sides to a situation and approach it with some objectivity rather than making snap judgements. Someone that is capable of being both humorous and serious in situations that call for both. A person that is not closed off, but is receptive to new ideas and change.

The first thing people notice about me

I've been told that I have an air of confidence by some and an air of relaxation (relax-edness, I believe was the word used) by different people. I think that the one of those two that people see are more a reflection of who they are, even though I am both of those things in my opinion.

The last book I read and enjoyed

The book was called Freakonomics. It's tagline says that it's about the hidden indicators within microeconomics. I'm not sure that it can be summed up that concisely. The book detailed a lot of correlations that have occured in microeconomic situations, like the sudden drop in violent crime in the mid to late 90's and how realtors keep their own houses on the market longer and sell them for more, but it didn't draw a lot of causality. Most authors in non-fiction, analytical type genres set out with the express purpose of drawing causality and usually exaggerate facts and figures to do so. This book presented the facts without conclusions.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My exceptional group of family and friends
  2. My mind: my intellect and perception
  3. My good luck and my good health

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

Because most people's first impression of me is that I'm funny, most people don't recognize that I'm an intricate personality right off the bat. Funny people tend to be recognized as humor machines rather than sophisticated people.

A little more about me

I shed stress like water off a duck's back. Once a high strung person has spent enough time with me, they inevitably lighten up.
