The one thing I am passionate about...
Life, living, and my family and friends. I'm at a point in my life where I've achieved a lot but still have many dreams to fulfill. I'm thankful for the path that's brought me here and I'm looking forward to everything that's ahead of me. Right now, I'm hoping to meet someone kind, intelligent and fun-loving to share that trip.
I typically spend my leisure time
Going places - heading downtown for coffee or window-shopping; good converation. Taking a trip at the spur of the moment. Or, to quote a song by Chicago, spending a Saturday in the park. A game of chess on a rainy afternoon. Or watching a movie after a nice dinner at home. In short: anything other than just sitting around being bored - I get enough of that behind a desk at work.
The most influential person in my life has been
A love of serendipity. (And, if you want to know what I mean by that - drop me a line and ask. I don't have enough room here to say what I want to say ... trust me, I've tried!)
The first thing people notice about me
My personality: I try to be outgoing and to find something that I've got in common with almost anyone.
The last book I read and enjoyed
"The Eyre Affair" by Jasper Fforde. I'm a literature major and this book - which is about as surreal as they come - is a lot like "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" series with a twist of mystery and humor. I highly recommend it for a good laugh and a nice dose of "What the...?"
The three things which I am most thankful for
- The talents I have - writing, teaching, and communicating well.
- The experiences that have made me who I am today (both good and bad).
- A really fun, honest, and eclectic group of friends.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
This is a toss-up between my eyes (which I've been complimented on a number of times) and my sense of humor. (Not everyone "gets me" - if you don't laugh at Monty Python, then my jokes might not get a rise out of you, sorry to say.)
Friends Describe me as
Creative, Intelligent, Sweet, Thoughtful
A little more about me
If you know any songs by Steely Dan ... or if you've seen Casablanca, or The Blues Brothers, or Snatch so many times you could almost act those movies out ... or if you sometimes fantasize about running away (to the mountains, for instance) with nothing more than a change of clothes, a toothbrush, and a notebook to write in - then you should definitely get in touch with me. I'm looking for someone adventurous who's not afraid to share her thoughts and say what's on her mind ... who's not afraid, either, of opening her heart and letting someone else in.
