The one thing I am passionate about...
Knowing self. I'm a complex person and it's a continuous learning process just knowing and understanding me. Self-awareness is reassuring. I'm in the LOA phase right now (Law of Attraction)...positive thinking, intentional acts and knowing that I can have whatever I set my mind and attitude toward attaining. Read "What Happy People Know"... I'm also passionate about parenting and the role I play in helping define my daughter's value system, aspirations and outlook on life.
I typically spend my leisure time
Entertaining my daughter, or getting her to/from points of entertainment. Otherwise, I enjoy reading, watch reality tv (wife swap is no longer on the air and we all should be complaining to ABC...I also like "Intervention" on A&E), planning house projects and dreaming up vacations.
The most influential person in my life has been
Loyalty. Having someone be there for me not just with words but by deeds. Knowing that someone is on my side. Loyalty, among other things, breeds empowerment. "We are not alone..." As a single parent, a small business owner, a home owner, among other things, I have a multitude of decisions to make every day and it would be nice to have someone to discuss pros/cons with and someone to listen to my reasoning and lend advice. Someone who is invested in my well-being and not just looking for a paycheck. I'd do the same in return, of course, when need be.
The first thing people notice about me
In a work setting - that I'm very focused and professional. In a social setting - that I'm almost always good for generating a laugh. Two guys walked into a bar - you'd think the second one would've dunked down...my latest joke. Cracks me up!
The last book I read and enjoyed
Middlesex...Darkest Child...Glass Castle. My summer reading list. All coincidentally involved characters with unusual life circumstances and, in a nutshell, how they dealt with their realities.
The three things which I am most thankful for
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I'm approachable. Sometimes, I think, people mistake poise or politeness or professionalism for seeming "unapproachable", but that's not so. I've made great friends of the one's who dared to 'break the ice'.
Friends Describe me as
Articulate, Intelligent, Loyal, Outgoing
A little more about me
I'd like more people in my circle of friends. Not every match by eHarmony will be a romantic fit, and so I'm not expecting that. If the eHarmony analysis is right though, then I'll be paired with folks similar or complementary to me. And, what more could one ask for in a friend? I'm cool to just chat on the phone, meet for tea or exchange emails - friendships are a good thing! (read this again...until you hear what I'm saying...because I've seen some great people "close" communication though I would've liked the chance to just know them better and, in a few instances, maybe even hook them up with a fri
