I typically spend my leisure time
Reading, walking, some swimming, teaching, serving on Quaker committees, working on chatham peace initiative projects, writing poetry, working on my novel, playing the piano, going to poetry groups, collecting things, keeping a kitchen garden, cooking for people, listening to music, doing museusm, spending time at my camp, talking to my relatives, exploring, feeding my birds, working around the house for instance making the stray bookcase.
The most influential person in my life has been
The ability to love, listen and extend help to another if needed. Kindness and sense of humour are paramount.
The first thing people notice about me
That I am a kind person. Also that I am walking as I am an inveterate walker in my neighborhood.
The last book I read and enjoyed
I read a lot of novels but have forgotten their names. I like southern ones, written my women, that are lyrical, have a strong narrative and strong characters. Eudora Welty springs to mind. I enjoy Russian and German novels and short stories particularly e.g. Nabokov and Mann, but camus's la peste is also a favorite and swann's way. I can read trash or the deepest out there depending on my mood. am reading a man without qualities which may take me years to finish if ever, like this survey.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- Having a supportive network of friends
- Having the time and inspiration to write
- Having the motivation to help make the world a better place
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
That I believe their point of view is worth hearing.
Friends Describe me as
Creative, Funny, Generous, Intelligent
A little more about me
Though not a well rounded cook, I can come up with around 15 dishes that you would enjoy having again. I like to cook for people, pretend I have a small restaurant.
